Xia, NBTY already has an online store. If you look up any search engines for vitamins, you are going to find thousands of vendors trying to sell you vitamins. How do you suppose NBTY is going to compete online? This online model is highly different from the success of AMZN where they come, command and conquer. Everyone else is inferior, or at least that's how it's perceived. Selling vitamin online is a tough nut to crack and competition is so furious and sales volume so low compared to the retail stores NBTY is not going anywhere online even if they buy 1/3 of all moms and paps store. Just ask a simple question - would you have any doubt you are getting an inferior book while buying online versus buying it at B&N? Would you have any doubt as to the quality of a bottle of vitamin E you buy online versus from a real neighborhodd store? Wrong model, won't work, been associated with one online site myself.
