Most vendors go to their ISP for e-commerce advice. Asking a CompUSA
clerk doesn't help because the ISP's capabilities play an integral part of the process. "What are the options for hooking into SQL?" "What TCP/IP card verification feed is available and how is it accessed through the software?" "What if my ISP isn't set up for ASP?" These are issues in the software selection.


MOST people do not know the first thing about E-commerce so asking their ISP is usually not where a lot of them start. Before we began developing this software, we spoke with several retailers about what the most common request was and quess what? It was E-commerce. If only we had something to sell them that would get them up and going on e-commerce...is what retailers like compusa and Walmart have told us (actually our resellers). We think we are down a good path here.
