Does anyone know anything about this Go America that claims its the nation's largest wireless ISP, and was named as a partner in the Microsoft-QUalcomm deal? Are they publicly traded? What is their technology? Is it the same as MCOM's?

When are you going to get it thru your thick little head, HVN, that CDPD has neither SPEED NOR COVERAGE? Geesh.

CDPD runs at about 2400 baud. This is useless for any kind of internet connectivity.

CDPD will never be fast because the telcos STILL don't get it and don't like the idea of anyone getting flat rate data.

On top of that CDPD is really expensive-- $50 a month + $0.05 per kilobyte. Its makes no sense.

And as for coverage, as far as I'm concerned its not better than Metricom. It covers lots of cities, but not regions. Metricom covers regions in the area it has coverage.

For people who travel (And I am one) CDPD has no more useful coverage than Metricom-- %80 of the time I'm out of coverage area. Same goes for Metricom.

Until the cell service providers start getting behind wireless data in a serious way, Metricom has a significant advantage.

Oh, and another thing, the reason its so hard to get cell sites in towns is cause you have to build a big ugly tower and people hate that. Metricom doesn't have this problem as in a coverage area you never know its there unless someone points it out.

These facts ahve been true all along.

I know you work for a telecomunications company with a vested interest in cellular, but please, stop making claims you know are not true.
