Tom et al,

Re : ......changed my mind about shorting MALL now is the sudden surge of strength in UBID's competitors, namely, COOL, ONSL, and EGGS. It's making ML's job so much easier to hype up UBID.

Totally agree. In addition, note how MALL didn't rise nearly as much as EGGS and ONSL. This further pushes the undervalued bid-net service thought.

Tom, for once, I agree...

You'll notice ALL stocks in the sector have been flying as of late. Its been gaining a lot of momentum; especially Cyberian Outpost (COOL) and Egghead (EGGS). Even MWHS, MALL's direct competitor, has been gaining significantly this past week. MALL itself should be worth MORE now relative to its peers. This is all independent of UBID.

Now with UBID, I think the media has done the investors a favor by comparing it with EBAY. God knows why, but it bodes well for UBID.
In almost every article I read, UBID and EBAY gets mentioned in the same breadth. When people compare companies, they tend to compare market caps as well. With EBAY's $8 to $9 BILLION market cap, that puts UBID's price per share value into the stratosphere if we give UBID a similar market cap comparison.

UBID's opening day will probably be the biggest in the history of the stock market. Time will tell.
