Not that it matters, but I do not object to Jimbo's posts, I enjoy some of them, and am always interested in a tip which I can research. I have never bought or sold any of Jimbo's tips.

Today was a bit different. A speculative fever was whipped up right on the thread. Unless GGarcia was joking (and I still have my suspicions the whole thing is a hoax) it seemed that he was caught in a panic.

I am reminded a few years ago when INTC was trading at a p/e of 10 future earnings, it would sometimes dip to p/e of 7. Reason was yelling that it was a buy, but the market would not budge it. We all know what happened several splits later. CPQ is at about 16-18 p/e on forward earnings (depending on how you calculate those earnings), reason is yelling a buy, but the market won't budge the fat cow. It is not a perfect parallel especially as DNA testing has proven CPQ to be a pig, but I have the same kind of feeling about it, as I had about Intel: and may buy some more this week or next.

El,

I'm sorry, I confused you with Reichers in Cincinnati when I already knew you were from Michigan.

As for the Internet stocks, I guess it's people like me who keep saying they're overvalued simply because we didn't have the instinct to buy them when they were cheap. It is confounding, however, to see stocks with an incalculable PE selling for $200 per share. Where is the growth in their revenue going to come from to justify that type of price? Oh well, my hats off to those who got in and made their fortune betting on vapor-value. The time for CPQ will come though, and won't it be great when it climbs back to 100 some day!

Have a nice evening.
