Changing the name of the thread? Why?....

Since September I have rarely daytraded. Most trades were from about 3 days to 3 weeks. The only exception being the hi flying internet options which I rarely held overnight. This is not a daytrading thread but rather a swing trader/positions/short term trading thread.. If the market situation returns to the way it has been in August and I doubt it ever will be that dismal again, we might resume daytrading to preserve profits as I have done. I have always espoused holding a longer term portfolio alongside the trading portfolio, and the results have been more than remarkable since September.

Market Gems the stock selection site is also not just for daytraders but has the same focus as this thread. if the words 'beaten down' don't fit that's because our beaten down stocks have recovered nicely since march 1997.. and they will leave this unwanted "legacy" to the more unfortunate stocks like BEAS,PSUN.. there will always be beaten down stocks.. but our focus is to ride them up as they recover, and if now they are no longer beaten down we have reached our goal.

And if you ignore recovering, overbought stocks simply because it is not your 'strategy' to buy them you are cheating yourself out of potential profits. Of course the more overbought they are the less likely I am to hold them very long, but from having left out 'too many' overbought stocks from watch lists and seeing their consequent rise, I am speaking from experience. Be a little more 'flexible' in your trading strategies..
