Funk, very good points all, save one.

I quite specifically said that JPR did not seem to have good support, and that that should be considered in making a decision. I then said that I had gotten good treatment by one person in their NY office in the few phone calls I had made to her.

The only positive comments I made regarding them, other than their obvious edge in commissions, was to say I know a number of their traders, who lavish great praise on them. I also said I know even more traders who lavish the same praise on MBT.

Perhaps you didn't mean anything to the contrary, but I wanted to be clear again, for any new readers.

Just the facts, m'am.<g>

Len

I am still confused if MB Trading is on the cutting edge of everything, why are their rates more than twice that of JPR. A simple answer is all I want? After a few thousand trades a year, that is one ton of money. Forget Terra Nova's proprietary trading, just the simple point of rates. I want a clean simple answer to that. And by the way, insulting people Funk is no way to go through life. Have a little more class, your trading knowledge is impressive, your posting style should also be. Scam is not my name, and playing that game is droping you down to the level of Mack.

I have another question, will I be proven right in your eyes if any branch offices break away from Terra Nova and go their own way in the future? The reason being that Terra Nova has screwed with them too much?

Well, JPR will have ARCA access soon. That notwithstanding, my take was that scanshift didn't so much object to MBT (after all, they're not fundamentally different from any of the half dozen entities who all work through Terra Nova), as Terra Nova itself. Primarily, I have to admit, it is the commissions that are killers, although MBT is no worse than any of the clones. If JPR doesn't cut it, I can vote with my feet. If MBT is working for you, more power to you. They were my second-place choice, to be honest. I have gotten screwed around enough, that I'm not prepared to put myself in that position again knowingly. BTW, you seem to have somehow gotten the impression that scanshift was saying MBT would/could screw you. That isn't what he said, is it? He was casting aspersions at TN.

JPR clears Southwest; I think they could certainly let you get ARCA if you really wanted it. In one of the SEC documents from an earlier post, it was noted that Archipelago was the Townsend Analytics/Terra Nova Trading/Southwest Securities ECN. That was on the following web site:

sec.gov

JPR in my opinion has been doing their customers a favor by not having ARCA!

funk --'MBT will let any trader take two months to trade for $5 commissions. No its not the same as having permanently low charges, but its a start, and it provides a "more than fair" opportunity for someone to learn how to use the software and work their trades.'
Can you elaborate on this further? Couldn't find any mention of this on their page. Thanks,
schoch
