I talked to CAIS Internet which is marketing Bell Atlantic's ADSL package in my area and they did a quick loop qualification test and I was informed pronto that my line didn't qualify and that was the end of the story; no ADSL. I can't believe it. Here I am in one of the first CO's to get ADSL in Bell Atlantic territory and my line doesn't qualify. The good news is that I'll be able to get 640K downstream through Starpower after the first of the year and my line looks like it will qualify for that. This is through the use of the electric companies right of way. $57 bucks which will give me my ISP, continuous connection to the internet, and dialtone for a second analog phone. I can ditch my second phone line and it all just costs me about $10 more a month; fantastic. It isn't G.Lite, but it is DSL; not sure what flavor.

This market isn't going much above 10k on the DOW IMO. We have rocketed up and could see a lot of sideways action again. Volatility should rule again. There are many casualties from the last debacle that have not returned; VNTV, RMDY, AFCI, PAIR; lots of stuff. I just don't know what to make of this market. I have no idea how to play it. Seems pretty damn risky at this point once again.
