Glenn,

<Peppe, with due respect, the Global One contract has been decided>

Once again, I didn't hear the cc. If that's what Alan Lutz said, then great. The expectation set, however is that this contract has been won by NN. The recent rise in NN stock was fueled somewhat by this rumor.

When GlobalOne announces the deal, all NN longs can collectively breathe a sigh of relief. Until then, the check's in the mail ...

Peppe

Duncan Stewart, the manager of the Navigator tech Fund and one of the most widely quoted tech fund managers in Canada, was on the Canadian business show, Business World tonight. These were his impressions:

The reason earnings were not better was because of a higher proportion of sales of TDM than ATM, which of course is a lower margin product.

He believes the market will react positively to this report in spite of the lower growth in ATM sales.

Asked about the Lucent rumours, he responded by saying that he believes it likely that Lucent will make an equity investment in Newbridge of about 15%, which he valued at about CND$1.5 billion.

He praised Alan Lutz for his work in turning the company's fortunes around but said that much work remains to be done.

Generally speaking he was upbeat but not ecstatic. He now feels that the company is on its way to better days.

G.M: Would not DT have the best chance and use NN as a Sub.?
