Sergio & DD, two Boeing shorts from recent IBDs

Nov.11
The jet builder is hustling to meet yearly production goals. I'll ask up to 10,000 Seattle-area employees to work during Thanksgiving weekend. The company also expects to ask some workers to volunteer for work during the annual Christmas shutdown from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3. Assembly lines will be slowed during that period but not halted. As of Nov. 1, Boeing was 129 airplanes short of it's delivery target.

Nov.16
Southwest Airlines said Boeing production delays have shortened to the point that all aircraft to be delivered in the third quarter were received on time. Boeing named executive vice president Tom Schick to lead the customer service division. United Airlines and United Parcel Service complained last month the company didn't try and fix problems after jets were delivered-something that may have played a part in their decisions to buy Airbus jets.
