Sig,

Please pardon my intrusion as I know that your question was for Mohan. However, if I may make a comment, wireless has great potential in the Indian cities. While each of the cities have existing copper lines, these are owned and maintained by the government and in general in poor shape and of poor quality. If wireless becomes affordable, people will go for it in droves. Already wireless is a status symbol with a sizable market.

Wireless in India, however, will more likely be used for voice rather than data communications, given present high computing costs and relatively low computer literacy and the notion of the extended family, strong family ties and traditions of keeping in touch in India. As an anecdotal evidence, I know that my mother spends at least 2-3 hours each day keeping in touch with family and friends over phone.

Note that India is a country with 100 million middle-class families with disposable income (adjusted for purchasing power parity and cost of living indices) roughly comparable to 50% of that of the average US one.

Hello, Sig! You really have an inventory of calls! Thanks for the list, I printed it out. I've felt writing naked puts is conservative since your money's not on the line at the beginning, but your calls have unlimited potential for profit, whereas my put premiums are all there is to be made.

I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy some leap calls.

Your example is a fine motivation!

Sincerely

Don

Sig:

There is no question that Dell is the premier internet company with sales of $ 10M/day. Yet the stock is just moving sideways. Dell is just like a very beautiful girl, but not sexy. Wall Street eyes are turned to hot pants, high heels and low cut blouses. Maybe Dell with the best expertise of selling direct should form a subsidiary that sells general merchandise on the net. Have you noticed that Outlet Malls are mushrooming in the US? People love bargain prices. And who can deliver better than Dell.

As for your reference to future revolution. I think it is wireless communication. Asia will come back probably in two or three years. They need communication badly. With countries like India and China, they are not going to build land base infra-structures, but easier to build cells for wireless communication. I feel that the winner will be CDMA (US invention and will be pushed by US government), and that is Qualcomm and also Lucent. Disclosure: I do not currently own any of those two stocks, nor am I going to in the very near future.

Best Regards

Paul
