Downsouth,

I'm happy you made a bit of cash today. I still say what I said yesterday. I dont expect MSFT stock to fly up into the range that IBM has reached in the very near future. Todays early and mid-day spike will not last. In fact the last few minutes of trading showed that profit takers were even dragging the stock down from its $5+ gain.

There are still a lot of Wall Street investors that think the NSCP/AOL merger announcement means that the DOJ case has weakened. This cant be further from the truth. Contrary to what the MSFT lawyers are trying to FUD in public (they are as good as the MSFT insiders themselves) about the DOJ case being destroyed, the case is not affected at all by this latest merger.

Once the investors realize this, the MSFT stock will again go into a lul! So again, before you get all giddy about the day's spike, lets see what happens after the NSCP/AOL merger sinks in.

But congrats for your virtual gain today (since it wont mean much if you didnt take your profit on the gain and it heads back down).

PS: NOVL earnings were 33% over street predictions today, sales were up 11% and expense were down about 18% - the NOVL recovery is official. I hope MSFT continues to simply ignore NOVL and focus on SUN, the DOJ, ORCL, NSCP, IBM, etc.

OK Downsouth, I have the kahunas to actually post my predictions. Lets here what your predictions are for MSFT over the coming weeks. Tell me what MSFT stock price will be for MSFT on the next 4 quarters. When will it split?

The nice thing about SI is that your predictions (like mine) are recorded and can be retrieved.

So come - make some predictions and base your predictions on your logic as to why it will happen.

Thanks - we would all like to hear a MSFT-Lemming make a prediction for once! If you are so convinced that MSFT is going to blast off then you MUST have some logic to back this feeling. I'm sure you aren't investing base on past performance and a tingle in your large toe! Show me the money!

(I know the answer I will likely get from you - watch people as DownSouth will dance around this challenge)
