I have to second that about Schwab...I have a T1 out of my house and there aint no bottleneck here. Getting trade status is horrible. I have an E*Trade packet in front of me now.

No SOES trading on the Power E*Trade site. The best trading firm that I know of that allows SOES trading is the All Tech Trading Group. Similar to what E*Trade is doing. Free level II with enough trading.

Ultimately, E*Trade is cheaper (unlimited # of shares for a flat rate), but I think you'd get better executions through All Tech.

Don't forget - All Tech gives you Direct Access - you literally compete directly with the MM's in your buying and selling. You can enter your orders on Instinet without going through a retail trading desk like E*Trade or Schwab.

50k minimum for All Tech. 100k is recommended. I think they were about to go to a 4 - 1 margin account, giving you 400k purchasing power on a 100k account! Better know what you're doing--you could get into trouble fast on that one!
