Not to flagellate any more deceased equines, but I must add in that the lack of absolute coverage even in suburban areas around major cities should give pause to all the people who neglect to consider Globalstar or Iridium's future prospects. As soon as the satellites are all in the air, service will truly be universal in coverage.

I can tell you from far too much experience that the Globalstar upgrade will be the major moneymaker for cellular phone salespeople. "Hey, you can have this Qualcomm phone that works where CDMA networks exist and nowhere else, or you can have this Qualcomm phone that works where CDMA or AMPS networks exist, or you can have this Qualcomm phone that works anywhere. Which one would you want in the middle of the night on a back country road?"

You must get Dual mode for that reason. Because Sprint's Analog is so expencive you should go with BAM.
