Halted stocks get there buy/sell orders cancelled, but not specialty orders like a Stop limit! Otherwise if you go on holidays for a month, your stop limit could have been pulled and you lose bigtime. If a stock is already "halted" then the brokerage will only accept dayorders on a "limit". If the stock is trading then they will accept "stop limits" for 30 days!!
