I believe Dr. Sagan confidently predicted dire ecological consequences if Sadam lit off the oil wells in Kuwait during Gulf War I. Nature is much more flexible than some scientists' minds.

Carl Sagan is NOT talking about IQ levels. He is talking about the evolution of the brain. In terms of complexity, the brain of a mentally-handicapped human adult is much, much closer to a normal human brain than it is to the brain of "lower" animals like the cow, pig, chicken etc.

Les, I don't know anything about the former Carl Sagan's belief's on abortion. I simple have my own, like everyone else.

Let me ask you this. Should we also ban the use of birth control pills because from what I understand they actually perform microscopic abortions at the moment of conception?
