nihil, The explicit purpose of the Technology Transfer program, as conceived of by the Bush administration and approved by Congress, was to move the vast body of (taxpayer funded) cold war technology out to the private sector. To Intel's credit, they recognized the tremendous value of this program, and have reaped the rewards. Two areas which Intel has benefited greatly in their relationship with Sandia have been : 1. Supercomputer technology. 2. Fab environmental technology. One example is that Intel's fabs now use much less water than other companies. Scumbria
