I like what I looked at.If they put out this PR the day before a holiday they might just have more for us next week.

Translation: ESVS now has at least two ads out on their ad network.

Question: How much of an ad network do they have left, though? Have they paid the web sites that display their ads?

Of course, veteren ZULU-watchers know to read any press release carefully, and with a grain of salt. For example, take this quote:

"The partnership with TopRank Boxing was launched with the creation of the TopRank website..."

At first glance, this would imply that they created the site. But, if you read WAY down, several paragraphs later, you will find:

"Top Rank's web site re-design came courtesy of one of Enhanced Services' Strategic Partners, AdWire"

Indeed, examining the site confirms this, with credit given to AdWire, and no mention of Enhanced.

I thought I'd check out the "e-commerce features" of the site. Here's what I found:

"Coming Soon

Publicity photos,
more
screensavers, and
a Top Rank store
from which you can
purchase videos,
posters, T-shirts,
and more will be
completed soon."

Yea, sure. Take your time, Enhanced - you already got the press release. That's the important part of the job...

OK, then, what about that County Seat site? The PR says that "Enhanced Services worked closely with County Seat to translate their brand to the Web, designing and developing their web site, and positioning them as a trendsetter in the online fashion industry."

Well, a traceroute to the site reveals that it's hosted on nodewarrior.com, the same server that Enhanced is now on. No credits on the site for anybody else (nor for Enhanced), so it looks like this claim is accurate.

But what have they created? I'd suggest you go to the site and see for yourself.

The site consists of a total of 5 pages and a store locator. The 5 pages are: a home page, a short (and unreadable - I think the name of the typeface is "Painfull Condensed"!) "mission statement", a "feedback page" that lets you send them e-mail, a page of fine print explaining the rules for a contest, and an entry form for the contest.
Anybody find anything else?

The overall effect of the site is bush-league - a minimal foot-in-the-door "Internet presense" site. UGLY graphics, minimal content, basically leaves you thinking "huh?". Why did they bother?

I can't imagine why anybody would bother to go to the site. What the hell do they sell? Well, I know they sell casual clothing, but that's about it. Where's the clothing? Where's the online store? According to the PR, "Enhanced Services will provide interactive phone service for County Seat's online shopping site. The 888 interactive phone service was launched October 19th. "

Er, WHAT online shopping site? Where's the 888 number on the site?

OH! Excuse me! There it is - on the "say HI" page!

What an interesting reverse-psychology move. Don't call us to buy clothing that you've picked out online. Naw, we're friendly folks - just call us to "say Hi!"
