OT On topic of IPR for Digital TV: Nice find Jim. Exactly the same issues as Qualcomm. If the Europeans don't like the royalties then they should find a cheaper alternative. If they can't then they should live with it as the penalty for not doing the research themselves. Too darn bad! Clark PS I agree with the French company that was bemoaning the fixed payment of $3.50 per box, but not for the same reason. It is probably poor policy on the part of the patent holders in that it adds up to so much money that it is probably cost effective for the manufacturers to go with someone else's technology. The patent holders may be overplaying their hand.
