Clarence, APM is a power management spec. I didn't realize that it was even an issue with sound cards.

A thought: if you intend to definately add an AGP card later for a 2d monitor, might that complicate the save to disk?

FWIW, you can put me in Spot's skeptical camp. I reckon that save-to-disk probably works, but that it may be an invitation for headaches, and I personally wouldn't want to forgo things like main AGP graphics (not to mention 5 PCI slots.) But I certainly see its appeal, and wish you all the luck in the world with it. It isn't like you won't be left with a good system even if it dissapoints.

And you also have a great holiday! The Mrs. (a lawyer who works too hard) is off the whole time, and we're getting our first pet today (a cat, no kids yet), so I'm looking forward to it <g>.
