David, Here's the news Carolyn referred to when she mentioned ECHO. ECHO Certifies Go Systems' IP-Charge AGOURA HILLS, CALIF. (Oct. 30) BUSINESS WIRE -0ct. 30, 1998--Electronic Clearing House Inc. (Nasdaq: ECHO) Friday announced the certification of IP-Charge software written by Go Systems Inc. of Savannah, Ga. IP-Charge allows Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to provide Internet commerce and interfaces with ECHONLINE, ECHO's Internet product. ECHO is the only processor that has certified IP-Charge to date. IP-Charge is one of the first solutions to process credit card transactions entirely over the Internet using standard TCP/IP protocol. Unlike other Internet solutions, which pass the credit card data from the merchant Web site to the payment processor via traditional data communications, IP-Charge sends transaction data via the Internet directly to the credit card processing company. This results in significant savings for the merchant. "IP-Charge allows merchants low-cost access to real-time Internet processing," said Jack Wilson, ECHO's vice president.
