In my example, the girl didn't choose to get pregnant. She chose to have sex. Big, big diff in my book.

We have a difference of opinions. As a parent, the sort of "you messed up - live with the consequences - you deserve'm" sanctimony I read out of the above statement is meager nourishment. In any case, I oppose the idea of forced motherhood as a "punishment" for an unplanned out-of-wedlock pregnancy.
But hey, that's jmho.
