ztect: I don't have the luxury of knowing the history of this thread. You've apparently been here for a long time. You seem to have developed an acute sensitivity to any comments that don't support PINC's stock outright. If that's true, then perhaps you're taking life a little too seriously. In any case, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't lump me in with any particular category of supporters or detractors.

I'm only here in response to a request from an SI lurker for me to evaluate PINC's Y2K software solution. I know nothing about the company, and don't really care whether they win or lose. That's my take on most penny stock companies.

If I were to "shell out $40.00" for every product that I was interested in trying out, I wouldn't be able to stay retired. I want a copy of the product to evaluate. That's all. I'll never use it again after I evaluate it. Any product that I do try out and decide that it performs a function that is of use to me, I buy. Whether it costs $40.00 or $400.00.

Re: "I felt as if you were specifically may have been asking ME to make that phone call for you".

Please reread my posts. I asked if anyone had contacts that could get me a free copy to evaluate. I didn't ask you to get one for me. Looks like another acute sensitivity issue.

Ingenuous? Well, OK. You're entitled to your opinion. Think about this, though. Some people in this world actually feel good when they do something to help others achieve their goals. It's called community involvement. In this case, it's the SI community. Perhaps it's something as time consuming as sharing an evaluation of a software product, or as simple as saving me the time of telling me how to get a free copy to evaluate. Or, what number to call so I don't have to spend time researching it. Maybe that's the only contribution they feel they can make to the thread. In fact, I've received a couple of PM's offering the help I seek. Thanks to those posters.

I'm about a 6 hour drive from Las Vegas. I've been to Comdex in the past, but didn't go this year. This year, I tried to arrange a car pool with a poster on another thread, but we couldn't find a time that fit into both our schedules. Besides, doing a quality evaluation of a product while at Comdex would be ludicrous. There are tons of people, lots of noise, and too many distractions. I'm much more effective sitting behind my desk at home where I can concentrate on a product's individual features and think about their strengths and/or weaknesses.

Now that we've explained ourselves to the Nth degree, let's get on with the business of having a nice holiday.

Regards,

TED
