Look, MSFT is a bull stock, a long-term momentum thingee. So, when
news can be interpreted in a positive way, it will be. Two things
are thus buoying MSFT right now: general bullishness on the street
on overall economy including brighter outlook for PC market, and
the interpretation by MSFT supporters that the recent AOL/Netscape
merger will undermine the lawsuit. If they are right, MSFT will
continue climbing for near future. If it becomes apparent that the
DOJ is likely to prevail, combined with any economic slowdown, then
MSFT will slide back. Short term, it is all perception.
