MARTIN: Why would 3com consider selling out....look at the books....too much upside potential for 3com. Cisco will destroy themselves with their so CALLED ADSL modem. It is just a matter of time ! Load up on coms...years from now you will look back and wished you had bought more.

It is a possibility.
I believe it is a higher possibility than most people on this thread. But i wouldn't bet $$ on it happening. COM$ is very solid and undervalued, a good opportunity on its own. However if LU were convinced to pay $75-80 for it, I don't think anything could stop them. COM$ would be hesitant to use the Poison Pill b/c shareholders would revolt if they turned down that much $$.

Martin,

COMS is going to be bought out.. there are a couple of reasons for this. With the recent performance of the stock, the shareholders are going to demand an unrealistic premium for the stock. Second of all, COMS management doesn't want to sell anyway. Third, COMS dominates some of the key market places in computer communications and would be subject to HEAVY regulatory scrutany.
