Emile ventured forth with great enthusiasm, demonstrating he does indeed possess human qualities which would accommodate further refinement: "As for your insensitive comment about laughing, I laughed once in my childhood and it got me in trouble. Next week we will together practice the fine arts of spitting and skipping rocks across the pond, are you up for it? (I will later attempt to extract the pearl from this crusty oyster by inquiring what it was Emile laughed about that shaped his destiny!)
