This may prove interesting to some that bought DEC back in the old days. I called my broker yesterday to sell MOT and NKE for a loss and buy CCI. He informed me that I had a $15,000 capital gain for this year. I said WHAT I haven't taken any profits, how is that possible? Apparently the CPQ/DEC deal was based on stock and CASH. SOOOOOOOO...the cash part of the deal becomes a capital gains..... So time to clean up some of my uglys to off set..

I thought my experience might help some others of the "older crowd". Time to call the broker, before the tax man comeith.

Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all,

Marcie

Getting ready for CPQ to fly again....it's in the air....ready to explode.to the 60's
