another schism among different factions on the left, kind of like the split between the "real"
socialists (PSI) and the social democrats (PDSI), or the PCI (now Partito della Sinistra
Democratica) and Rifondazione Comunista, in Italy?

Or it could be that 'the left' is a meaningless label? Especially these days.

Tell me, who would you consider to be to your extreme right economically? In foreign policy? In social policy?
