I've been visiting different hardware websites for quite a while. I now have a new favourite: Sharkyextreme.com. They've impressed me with their Comdex coverage, especially the way that they put forth opinions supported by the facts their reviews reveal. Here's an article on the powervr2:

Tom's Hardware still is a good site, but he needs some editing help. His most recent article on buying a computer for Christmas is very confusing. He presents far too many choices - if you're offering consumer advice you need to be clear and direct. The good news for 3Dfx is that he does have a recommendation for V2 (SLI is the tops for framerate) although he thinks that the TnT is the best single card (and he doesn't even mention the Banshee). In the same review he mentions that V3 should be the king of the hill again when it is released (which is strange for an article about Xmas computers as V3 will not be out until next year).

Anand's site is also good and I like his hardware reviews.

ps - Pat - the October sales numbers look good. Novemember and December are ke as the Xmas shopping season is huge in terms of sales. I wonder how much it would cost to get the PC Data report when it is ready vs. when it is posted for free on the net? It might be a good indication of Q4 earnings.

GMB finally made some points about 3Dfx that have a little meat behind them (still a little vauge, but there's enough to actually call and confirm with 3Dfx).

Basically, he says that their management is poor, they have trouble meeting deadlines, and they have trouble keeping people. He also says that they have the resources to do well, it is execution, not technology that will hold them back.
