Bernie: Not exactly sure, but let me put this one by you.

Based upon the short conversation that I had about this with my client, I think he said he gets termination fees, for all calls that terminate within his system. In addition, Nextel may not charge for roaming, but they still have to pay for the independant system usage. That is why my client expects to be bought out when Nextel has the cash.

I hate to say it, and I don't mean it negative, but according to him, the whole world of wireless knew of Nextel's cash flow problem. I guess they figure it's a good time to join, when Nextel needs them. If Nextel had money, they would't have this chance of joining. See, the independant still keeps their old analog system going at the same time with their own subscribers (mainly local business people) The independant gets paid for Nextel subscribers of the digital system, that are passing through, while offering either Nextel digital or local analog to the local customers. Nextel sevice is more costly and the phones are more expensive, thus, small local business people opt to use the local analog system, they don't need the features that Nextel has to offer.

I'm still waiting for additional information, some clients are easy to talk to and others, well, I'd rather speak with the bimbos in the front office that try to do the bookkeeping. Hope that explains why my info is not complete. I hate to get yelled at for asking dumb questions, especially when I have to ask them of hyperactive tech people that make big bucks while hiding in their electronic dream worlds. If you know what I mean.<VBG>
