Hi Fibre rebounding on the surprising strength of EMLX:

exchange2000.com

Early FC beneficiaries appear to be EMC (SANs), EMLX (I/O), and QLGC (I/O). Switches coming in on the next wave? Will Brocade's early '99 IPO catch it or impel it? Good luck to all.

The always available Anders Lofgren comments on Dell:

zdnet.com

"If they're going to be an enterprise player, they need to have viable storage offerings," said Anders Lofgren, an analyst at Giga Information Group, in Cambridge, Mass. "The next big step is for them to start evangelizing the SAN [storage area network]. Like everyone else out there, they need to do that in order to succeed."

Crunch Time:

In the first quarter, Dell will introduce a Fibre Channel switch for the SAN. The technology will probably be licensed from a third-party developer, a Dell official said.
