Last week I mentioned something about the new TSE/S&P 60 Index which will become the new benchmark index in Canada. I speculated that Newbridge might be included in the new index and this would give the share price a strong boost. Well, in today's Globe, there is an article quoting Martin Roberge, strategist at Levesque Beaubien, discussing possible admission candidates. Newbridge is one of the chosen few.

According to the article, Newbridge is among 55 Canadian companies that are sure to be included in the new index. There is a lot of interest coming from the U.S. concerning this index, with an official from S & P saying he is getting calls already from investors wanting to know who will be on the list. He remains mum, but the betting is Newbridge is on.
