BP is back propagation, the model type that runs fairly quickly. The TDNN models are much slower and CATNN models are much slower still. The PII-450 is a Pentium II 450 MHz.

Since my background is in Operations Research (i.e. Industrial Engineering techniques applied with a Computer Science background), I appreciate the models very well. I remain skeptical as to whether in the long run they can "beat the market", but have no complaints so far. I have always favored fundamental analysis and been skeptical of technical analysis. Certainly neural nets should outperform old fashioned technical analysis primarily because the old fashioned tools can be used as inputs, allowing the nets to determine if they are useful.
