Looks like a neat device. If its reliability is excellent, if it is able to ship quickly in volume, and if media prices drop soon, it should do very well. The low price of the drive should make it attractive in any case. The SCSI/parallel version will fill an important nitch for notebook users. It will do even better if DVD-RAM stays elusive.

I'm certainly intrigued by it.

I pretty much see it as Dave does. $29 for a 2 GB disc certainly has an appeal.

Do you know if the 2GB is all on one side of a disc?

Also...can not buy it because it does not exist in the market yet. My guess is that it will be at least a year before one can consider the drive.
