Carolyn -- What I was referring to where the past few weeks are concerned can be seen by viewing the poor performance of the small cap Russell 2000 relative to the large cap indexes during that time. Indexing may have something to do with it, but I have always found Fidelity's Select managers to favor small caps after they top weight their funds with the largest firms in their sector. They may not look important, but underperformance by the small caps does affect their returns.

As far as Maria is concerned, you are making a mistake, in my humble opinion, of course, in EVER watching CNBC with the sound on your TV on !!! Keep the sound off except when something or someone really interesting comes on, watch the ticker every once in a while, and you will see all you need to know without having your delicate inner ear bombarded by hundreds of useless and contrary opinions and predictions, or be subjected to the top merger of the day being analyzed and over-analyzed so times that you could puke !!!

GOD BLESS THE MUTE BUTTON ON MY REMOTE !!! There is something to really be thankful for today.

P.S. Fidelity Dividend Growth is a fine long term fund -- beats the S & P with less volatility over virtually every time period. Its is pretty amazing, especially since they have had a new manager just about every year during the past five.

Have a happy.
