The last time Exxon took over a big oil firm,
the red ink flowed for two years: Exxon's Canadian
division, Imperial Oil (IMO), bought out Texaco Canada.
Imperial could not run the Texaco Canada dealer network
economically.

Marcie, No, I have been over in the telcomm and ECM stocks for the last seven weeks cavorting! But here's a quick valuation: $67billion market cap, divided by a 780mm share float, nets an $86/share value.

Now tack on a a standard 20% takeover premium on that $86/share value, which is about $16/share. So a fair guess would be the parties would look at a negotiated price of around $102/share for Mobil stock give or take 5% either way.... Just IMHO...

Sincerely,

DVF
