Happy Thanksgiving to all. May the future bring many new steppers for every fab and a Cymer laser for every stepper.

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving!

There WILL be many new steppers shipped in the future. It is only a matter of time.

Samsung, a bleeding edge DRAM company, is still only at 25% sub-0.25&#181m capacity according to this article. There is much room for growth still.

Besides reducing debt, selling off operations can give Korean chip firms a cash infusion needed to modernize DRAM operations, said Dan Hutcheson, president of VLSI Research. "They've got to invest in state-of-the-art production capacity," he said, estimating that Samsung has converted only about 25 percent of its capacity to quarter-micron.

OT

If anyone has the opportunity to get a cable modem, do it.

They just became available through my cable company, Media One, and they are unbelievably fast. I signed up the day I heard they were available. I downloaded 4 mb of stuff from Microsoft in less than a minute. It would have taken 3 hours at 56k. It is like having the web on your hard drive.

I am also saving a few bucks a month, since I no longer need an ISP or an extra phone line.
