I spent many cold Sundays at Soldier Field watching Payton Run. I think that Sanders is a better back imho. Look at the offense that Payton had to work with as opposed with what Sanders had all these years. Payton had a great offensive line in front of him. The Lions line is suspect at times (Don't take this the wrong way), This is why Sanders is a superior back than Payton. The supporting cast made Payton look good. A guy that might come close to Sanders is Earl Campbell with Houston. Earl was the whole Oiler offense, heck he even did Bum Phillips job at times.
