HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
YES, WE'RE DOING A SHOW TODAY!
While the rest of the "A Teams" take the day off Belinda, Royal and I will be here this morning to help you start your Thanksgiving day. Most people aren't working, and it's a good time to show some new listeners just what we do here. Now -- I damned sure didn't show up here this morning at 5:00. So the Nuze is a little sparse. Not to worry, you got seven pages yesterday and tomorrow we'll be at full speed. So --- see ya on the radio!
A TRADITIONAL THANKSGIVING
Ted Turner and Jane Fonda have decided to host a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at their Montana Ranch today. They're going to try to carry on the traditions established hundreds of years ago. They'll invite all of their neighbors over for a sumptuous feast, then they'll kill them and take their land.
NOW HE TELLS US!
Last night I was watching CBS News when the left-wing extremist anchor Dan Rather gave us the latest on Dr. Krevorkian. Rather reported that Krevorkian had been arrested and charged with first degree murder as a result of a bit shown on 60 Minutes Sunday night. Rather went on to tell us that Americans, by a two-to-one margin, do not think that Krevorkian should be prosecuted for murder.
So far so good. We have a person accused of committing a crime. Nothing odd there. We also have some sort of a public opinion poll which says that most Americans don't think that this person should be punished for that crime. Again, nothing odd there.
Then it got a bit strange.
Rather followed up his comments on the poll results with a warning. He said that we should all note that it is not public opinion, but the law that counts when it comes to prosecuting a criminal!
Rather, of course, is absolutely right. I have been sending that message for years on the radio. The question, of course, is why Rather chose this particular story to remind people of that important fact? Why did he wait until this story to remind people that we are a government of law, not a government of public opinion polls?
Over the past several months, not to mention the past few years, Rather has had hundreds of opportunities to bring this fact to light. Night after night, week after week, Rather has been bring us stories of another person charged with violating the law. And every night, night after night, week after week, Rather has followed up with poll results which show that the majority of Americans support this man and don't want him prosecuted for his crimes. And not once -- not one single solitary time -- has Rather ever followed up any of these stories with a reminder that it is the law, not public opinion, that counts when we're dealing with people who break the law.
Not once.
The man Rather was reporting on, of course, is Bill Clinton. A man who has been charged with multiple felonies.
We wonder if Rather's rule only applies to Krevorkian?
HERE'S THAT FDIC ADDRESS
Yesterday I told you about the "Know Your Customer" program being instituted by the FDIC. Under this program virtually all financial institutions will be required to monitor your checking and savings account activity and report any unusual deposits or activity to the federal government. Please look at yesterday's Nealz Nuze for more on this, including some important links.
Here, as promised, is the address to which you can send your comments on those new regulations.
Robert E. Feldman, Executive Secretary, Attn: Comments/OES, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, 550 17th Street N.W., Washington, DC 20429
Comments may also be faxed to (202) 898-3838.
IT'S THOSE DARNED RACISTS AGAIN
(This from The Nando Times on November 22nd.)
A black woman was convicted of attempting to defraud the United Parcel Service by sending packages she covered in racial epithets to herself and nationally known black leaders.
Angela Jackson, 28, of St. Paul, Minn., could be sentenced to more than five years in prison at a Feb. 17 sentencing hearing. She was found guilty Friday.
Prosecutors said Jackson used UPS to send 28 pieces of hate mail to herself and Reps. Jesse Jackson Jr. and Bobby Rush, both Illinois Democrats. Jackson, no relation to the congressman, then tried to collect $150,000 from UPS, blaming white supremacists at the company for vandalizing and damaging her insured packages.
Jackson had been a student at Chicago-Kent College of Law and at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul. On the stand, she blamed a racist conspiracy for the charge.
I KNEW IT ---- I JUST KNEW IT!
According to a report in The London Independent, which quotes a study conducted by the French government, less than five out of ten French people take a bath or shower every day. Not only that, but the French buy less than half as much toilet soap as the Germans and the British.
No wonder they sell so much perfume over there.
JUST WHO SENDS THESE LITTLE INSTRUCTION BOOKS OUT?
In the last election it was "soccer moms." Now it's "kitchen table issues." Every single Democrat out there is talking about these "kitchen table issues." Question .... just who is it in the Democrat party that thinks up these little terms and then sends out the faxes and telegrams to all party fellow travelers to make sure they use them every time they open their mouths in public?
Kitchen table issues, my fat rear end. It's freedom issues. I don't give a damn about the kitchen table. I care about my freedom, about liberty, about my right to my life, liberty and my property --- including my kitchen table. boortz.com |
