Doug, there is a way to avoid having to type in ID and PW
(as we must for access to SI). Replace the bookmarked URL
with another containing your ID and PW. Example...

anysite.com

is changed to

http://YourName:YourPass@www.anysite.com

I tried it with SI and it works. Disadvantage: all SI
URLs now show your PW. Since I often post URLs as
references, removal of my PW would be a hassle.

PS: once I have signed on for the first time after starting my
browser, I leave the browser open all day. I just disconnect
the modem connection for long absences. As long as the browser
is not exited, SI recognizes me.
