Charest is the Kim Campbell of Quebec politics. I think it is perfectly Ok for Chretin to interfere in the election as long as he says he is on Bouchard's side. Not that I care if Quebec recedes from Kanada. If they promise to take the Toronto Argonauts, Kim Campbell, Hugh Segal, the Sun Daily Newspaper, 60% of the reform party members, Joe Clark, Conrad Black, Maclean's magazine, and the 4 major Canadian Banks we will help them. You might think it unwise to give them the banks but after they (banks) have spent the last 100 years ripping us off it's time they got somebody else to concentrate on. On a serious note I guess what ever a bunch of people decide is ok by me. Why argue? It's when they show up at your door with black armbands telling you you haf to join the party or get aboard that cattle car is when I get excited. Bouchard has a bit of that dictatorial aroma. I think Charest is right to say Quebecers will not have that much choice when a succession takes place, which is what they get when they vote B.. Which parties will they have then? And you can forget English language rights after that. A bus ticket in English one way out you will be lucky to get for all you own there. If I lived in Quebec, I would be afraid. Very afraid. Charest should be fair and say he will have a referendum too. Why not? Its democratic. Only the terms should be fairer to the minorities. If I thought the fr. would be totally democratic I would vote for it myself. Fat chance. Mob rule is more like it. And Parizeau. "We will milk the rest of Canada." Clever. You cannot get rid of us that easily. If you promised to stop milking the cow we could sit down and talk about the rest of the dream. EC<:-}
