Everything we've always heard directly from THQ about this WWF deal indicates a 50/50 split of expenses. So I'm pretty doubtful of this new report's veracity. Anyway, S&P futures up smartly as I write this, the Russell looks poised to finally break 400, and the news coming in from the bloodhounds on the MF AOL board is extremely encouraging. It's late and today's tennis tired me out so I'm sorry that I can't identify them all by name but here's the latest and my comments. <<Rugrats is already listed as the #10 top seller. ebworld.com>> One word. Wow. <<Top 2 out of 5 - Check out Nitro at #5 - from n64.ign.com - courtesy of EB Revenge Beats Out Metal Gear (Again) THQ's WCW/NWO Revenge continues to top the US multi-console charts. November 19, 1998 18:00 THQ's WCW/NWO Revenge hit the N64 in late October and has been selling at record numbers ever since. As you can see from this week's Top 10 sales charts, the four-player wrestling title shows no sign of slowing down, again beating out Konami's Metal Gear Solid for the top spot. 1. WCW/NWO Revenge (THQ) N64 2. Metal Gear Solid (Konami) PSX 3. NBA Live 99 (EA Sports) PSX 4. Crash Bandicoot Warped (Sony) PSX 5. WCW/NWO Nitro (THQ) PSX 6. Pokemon Blue (Nintendo) Game Boy 7. Colony Wars Vengeance (Psygnosis) PSX 8. Pokemon Red (Nintendo) Game Boy 9. Cool Boarders 3 (989 Studios) PSX 10. Xenogears (Square-EA) PSX Top 10 courtesy of Electronics Boutique Also at the TRU in Culver City was 42 PSX Rugrat games. Unfortunately, I do not know how many they received. But with such a large shipment, THQ must shipped alot. As I recall, there seemed to be more Rugrat games in the initial shipment here than there was for Revenge (36) in its initial shipment.>> Will Rugrats outsell Revenge at "kiddie" stores like TRU? Hmm. <<Thanksgiving newspaper insert advertising of WCW Revenge is really remarkable, imho: Target: WCW Revenge page 11 K-B Toys: WCW Revenge and WCW vs nWo World Tour page 15 Sears: WCW Revenge page 8 Best Buy: WCW Revenge page 10>> And look for another wave on Sunday, with more Revenge plus some featuring Rugrats, IMO. <<Just saw the Rugrats commercial for the first time. It was shown during the first commercial break of "Winnie the Pooh's Thanksgiving Special." (on ABC) The commercial starts out with a man in a turtle suit trying to entertain some children who are obviously bored. The commentator says... if you really want to have some fun try playing Rugrats. You then see some clips from the game and the children having a good time. It's obvious that Sony paid for this advertising, because the last thing the commentator says is... only on Playstation. I guess they conveniently overlooked the Gameboy title. Overall it is a good commercial and the target audience was definetly there during the showing of Winnie the Pooh.>> I love this. Isn't it obvious that this is going to create a lot of buying interest in the Rugrats game? I mean, we've known about this Sony advertising campaign for Rugrats for a long time, but its really nice to see it happening and feel the buzz. Also, a Sony exec was on the Fox biz show (Cavuto) and brought up Rugrats and THQ by name. WCW Nitro PC is one of four games shown as hottest titles of the month on the Babbages/Software Etc. "Coming Soon" webpage. This one has amazing margins and is my sleeper title. Still listed as coming out Nov. 30 at gamelord.com. The challenge stands for the Yahoo and SI THQ boards to try to keep up with the MF AOL one on the weekend channel checks. Rugrats Revenge, Marc
