Not really a true merger but a re-emergence of the old Standard Oil which the government split up years ago. Esso(Exxon) and Mobil were one in the same til Uncle Sam said too big. Ironic that it will be just after MSFT whom the government may now force to split because of it's dominance (hence size). Politics going full swing!
