Actually Sid (aka CSMulstrum on Yahoo) MY sources indicate Milnoid's source is in fact correct. They are one year in to the TWO year trial phase, learning what to change in the commercial version's design. The Chicago design has the older, heavier fuel cells compared to the Vancouver version. The newer generation fuel cells will now be put in to the Chicago buses. These items, I am assured, were expected and no different than what a new version automobile would go through.

Sorry to spoil your "spin" on things since you are always such a breath of fresh air. Perhaps you might want to do some of your own investigation instead of passing along unsubstantiated rumours. I can't believe anyone would spend so much time trying to discredit a company without having an agenda of some kind.;)

Sid: Your remarks remind me of stories, I heard nearly 75 years ago, about the ubiquitious "Model-T". It too was deemed to be a failure according to findings by engineers, some who stated a couple decades earlier, that the engine would never operate, As I remember in the nineteen-twenty's it seemed every 9 out of 10 cars was a Ford. It appears that good ideas don't die, they just get better.

I had posted this information earlier. No one seemed to know anything at the time.

Has BC Transit really decided to retain the trolleybus system in
Vancouver (Canada) ?
>
I've just received the November issue of "Tramways & Urban Transit" (UK) which has a small item in its world news section which reads as follows:
>
"The unreliability of the Ballard fuel cell buses here and in Chicago has caused BC Transit to reverse its decision to phase out trolleybuses, and the purchase of new trolleybuses is being considered to relieve overcrowding, which is evident as late as 2200hrs."
