THE WHITE HOUSE/ Today Gore proclaimed that Up to 47,000 schools/libraries to receive funds to connect children to the Internet November 27, 1998.

[[2Billion divided by 47,000 yields ! 43 K per building. That's about enough to provide a couple of floors of copper with fiber backbone, a T-1 for a year, and some hub gear. What are these kids going to have on their desktops?

Seen this all too often. When the infrastructure is complete they pull the old MACs that were donanted five years ago out of the closets , and they try to integrate them with some 386s and a few Commodores. Not everywhere, but you'd be surprised. The cable contractors don't seem to mind, though. ]]

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the attention. I would Strongly suggest to all Service Providers who are offering IP Telephony Services as well as those planning on launching services over the next 6 to 9 months to
attend the next meeting of the IP Telephony MoU which will
be taking place on December 11th at the JFK Airport Hilton.

Details regarding the meeting are at the IP Telephony MoU

As a side note - I'd be happy to discuss the "realities" of interoperability offline with those interested. Please feel free to email: jeff@pulver.com with questions / comments.

Best Wishes for the Holiday Season,

Jeff Pulver
