It would also further 3dfx's thesis on consolidation in the industry. Nvidia also have some of the best engineers in the business. Although I don't know how they would feel about working for 3dfx, at least they will be assured that the company they work for IS NOT in any financial problems. The combined company will definitely be in the best position to be #1 in next year's $3-4 billion graphics chip market.
