skeets.

bamm, amzn, bks are all up strong today. which of course is absurd. this internet craze might just be a bookseller's craze. <g>

but, question...if the internet is so wonderful and we get our information from it, are people going to keep reading as many books? if you think about it amzn is a contradiction in and of itself. it is like selling analog devices over a digital medium. If the digital medium is so wonderful, do we need the analog still? (just an observation, I happen to like books). but there is some reality to it to me. how many of us have cancelled our subscriptions to magazines and newspapers due to the internet? I find myself so inundated with information that I no longer take any financial publications at home. (We get a free synopsis to Barron's each week by MB.:-))

SB,

check this link eclipse.net

Nothing to it, just change the browser to use their proxy server.

I hope it is still running.

The last weeks I have been trying out the IMute filter (free 2-week trial). This program selectively protects from cookies and Java
applets (that have a tendency to make my computer crash because of
not enough memory).

If enough people pay for the filters, the companies fighting ads will
have a war chest big enough to take on all new tricks used by the advertisers.

The drawback is that much that's free now (being paid by the ads)
may be charged if there is less ad revenue.

I recommend a visit to junkbusters.com

Much info about what is really going on, sometimes behind our backs.

Regards
ps
