More Furby Fever, this time from Fox's Market Wire.

foxmarketwire.com

Konarski, speaking from the Newport Center Mall in Jersey City, N.J., said more than 100 shoppers were awaiting the 5:30 a.m. opening of the K+B Toys store to get one of the few Furby toys available. K+B is a unit of Consolidated Stores Corp.

The little furry interactive doll is this year's hottest item, with most stores selling out of the toy, made by Hasbro Inc.'s unit, Tiger Electronics, within minutes.

Cahill said 200 people were lined up outside that K+B outlet waiting for Furbies. Shoppers started lining up outside of K+B in the Ballston Common Mall in Arlington, Va., as early as 5 a.m., assistant manager Henry Oviedo said. The 132 Furbies the store had for sale were sold by 7 a.m., one hour after K+B's doors opened, he said wearily.
