U.S. stocks higher in light trade during a half session. Dow up 22 to 9336, most gains from oil stocks. Exxon up after news of merger talks with Mobil. Chevron higher on buying speculation. Internet stocks send Nasdaq scooting higher, analysts see big retail interest in stocks of firms that sell wares on the Internet. Analysts project holiday cyber-sales will triple to $3.5 billion.
