In regards to Stockwatch.

I just found out that they only have daily downloads for Canadian stocks/indexes/futures/options. They break the different exchanges up into different files because of the exchange overlap. Data format is ASCII and they provide different layout for different programs - for Metastock I downloaded as Symbol (e.g. AC), open, high, low, close, volume. They also have indexes but use a special code for each exchange. You can only download the past 7 days of data for free. After that it cost you .20 per exchange for previous days.

The download and convert for 7 days was very fast (2 minutes). My big problem is getting my hands on historical data. The data CD that came with Metastock is not compatabile since they name their symbols different. I am fairly sure that Stockwiz uses the same Data format so I may sign up with them for a couple of months and switch back to CSW after I get the database up and running. I already pay Canada Stockwatch for their real time quotes service so I get my daily downloads for free.

Best Regards
KEITH
